第一企画：金属工芸の歴史と多様性
１）古代中国の象嵌青銅器（１５〜２０点）
２）江戸期〜明治期の刀剣、鍔（ツバ）、その他彫金作品（約２０点）
３）アフリカなどの金属工芸（約３点）
Part 1: History and Diversity of Metalwork
- Ancient Chinese Inlaid Bronzewares (15–20 pieces)
- Swords, Tsuba (handguards), and other metal carvings from the Edo and Meiji periods (approx. 20 pieces)
- Metalwork from Africa and other regions (approx. 3 pieces)
第二企画：花鳥画を楽しむ
花鳥画は中国漢代に起源を持つ四季折々の情緒を表現した、風景の中に花、草木、虫、動物を描いているものです。
長崎派絵師、司馬江漢、渡辺華山、田能村竹田、春木南渓、渡辺省亭、浮世絵等を展示します。
Part 2: Enjoying Kacho-ga (Bird-and-Flower Paintings)
Kacho-ga (bird-and-flower painting) originated during China’s Han dynasty. These artworks capture the poetic sentiment of the changing seasons, depicting flowers, plants, insects, and animals within natural landscapes.
This exhibition features works by painters of the Nagasaki School, Shiba Kokan, Watanabe Kazan, Tanomura Chikuden, Haruki Nankei, Watanabe Seitei, as well as various ukiyo-e prints.
第三企画：版画のいろいろ
木版画（板目、木口）、銅版画（エッチング、メゾチント、アクアチント、エングレービング）鋼板画、両面刷銅版画の違いをご覧いただけます。
ターナー、長谷川潔、藤田嗣治、ジョルジュ・ルオー、浜田智明、三塩佳治、多賀新、胡子修、湧井一朗、浮世絵（北斎、歌麿、月岡芳年、等々）を展示します。
Part 3: The Diversity of Prints
This exhibition highlights the distinct characteristics of various printmaking techniques, including woodcuts and wood engravings, copperplate etchings, mezzotints, aquatints, and line engravings, as well as steelplate engravings and double-sided copperplate prints.
Featured works include pieces by J.M.W. Turner, Kiyoshi Hasegawa, Tsuguharu Foujita, Georges Rouault, Chimei Hamada, Yoshiharu Mishio, Shin Taga, Osamu Ebisu, Ichiro Wakui, along with various ukiyo-e prints by masters such as Hokusai, Utamaro, and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi.
第四企画：面白い、かわいい、不思議な工芸
世界中の思わず「ホー！」と顔がゆるむような工芸品を展示します。
この他、書掛軸２点（柳原白蓮など）を展示します。
Part 4: Delightful, Cute, and Wondrous Crafts
This exhibition features a charming collection of crafts from around the world that are sure to bring a smile to your face and make you go, "Oh!" In addition, two hanging calligraphy scrolls (including a work by Yanagihara Byakuren) will also be on display.

Director's Message
当ミュージアムは街中にあり、気軽にお寄りいただける工芸絵画の宝庫です。
古代から現代までの陶磁器、漆器、金工、七宝、ガラス、木工そして絵画等様々な作品を通じて、匠の技と想いに触れ｢ホー｣｢フーム｣と小声を漏らすような体験を提供します。
知られざる素晴らしい作品を通して、日本美術の層の厚さ、裾野の広さ、歴史を再発見し、更に中国、朝鮮、中南米、アフリカ、ペルシャ等、世界中の多彩な作品にも出会える空間になっています。
展示スペースは約百平米ですので三ヶ月に一度三分の一ずつ展示替えをします。また、二、三ヶ月ごとに企画展も実施し、いろんな視点で作品の新たな魅力を発見できる場をつくります。訪れるたびに異なる体験を楽しめる、そんな場所を目指しています。匠の技は細部に及ぶので、見過ごすことなく観察でき楽しめるよう工夫をしています。気楽に茶道体験ができる場も設定いたします。
お近くに来られたとき、気分転換にフラッと立ち寄っていただければと願っています。一年間何度でも入場できる「年間パスポート」も作りました。御利用下さい。
Welcome to Museum SOU, a treasure house of arts and crafts located in the heart of the city.
Our collection spans from ancient to modern times, featuring ceramics, lacquerware, metalwork, cloisonné, glass, woodwork, and paintings. Through these diverse works, we offer an experience that invites you to whisper "Oh!" and "I see..." in wonder as you connect with the craftsmanship and the heart of the creators.
Beyond showcasing hidden masterpieces that reveal the profound depth and history of Japanese art, our space also brings you encounters with colorful works from all over the world—including China, Korea, Central and South America, Africa, and Persia.
In our approximately 100-square-meter gallery, we rotate one-third of our permanent collection every three months. We also host special exhibitions every two to three months to offer fresh perspectives on the charm of these artworks. Our goal is to create a place where every visit brings a different discovery. We have designed our displays carefully so that you won’t miss the intricate details of the master craftsmanship. Additionally, we provide a space where you can casually experience the Japanese Way of Tea (Sado).
We hope you will feel free to drop by whenever you are nearby, perhaps for a refreshing change of pace. We also offer an Annual Passport that grants unlimited admission for one year. We look forward to your visit.
